Section 17
To be converted into forest conservation area
(1) Protected forests existing at the commencement of this Act shall automatically be deemed to have been converted into forest conservation areas after the commencement of this Act.
(2) The conversion of forest conservation area as per sub-section 1 shall not be deemed to adversely affect the existing forest management system at the time of commencement of this Act.
